The old trunk in the attic over at the Bunkhouse at Loveless Motel never disappoints. This must have been a favorite of Loveless Lodge founders and owners Edgar Loveless and Sinjin Birdwhistle. Anti-freeze must have meant something entirely different in the 1920s. "It's going to be a cold cold winter, but I'll never freeze when you're around"

214. Second Date
These two fellows met 2 nights ago at the Bunkhouse, and are now inseparable. They're getting a room at Loveless Motel, enjoying even more services such as fresh designer linens, daily newspaper and evening turndown service. And as soon as we catch the guy who's stealing the towels, newspaper and chocolates, he's headed straight for the Hoosegow!

155. At the Devil's Ball

151. Isometric exercise...
Physical Culture is an attraction to young men everywhere, and nowhere can a finer experience be found than Loveless Motel. Find a workout buddy who can show you the ropes.
150. Old reels - Edgar Loveless and Sinjin Birdwhistle
These old reels were found in the trunk in the attic at Loveless Motel, and must have belonged to Edgar Loveless and Sinjin Birdwhistle, the cousins who built the original Loveless Lodge. This is private stuff, and must have been from their New York City days. Seems like role play isn't such a new thing. They must have been good pals with the cameraman.
149. Ten Cents a Dance
The old picture box up in the attic is a testament - Loveless Motel hosted great parties then, just as it does now - these lads kick up their heels to the strains of an unknown orchestra. Those picture boxes up there are a bottomless source of wonder - even an old celluloid reel occasionally pops up.

148. Yesteryear's Queers' Word of the Day #15- Lavender Cowboy
Lavender Cowboy
An effeminate gay man
-1920s-
"Vernon Dalhart in the late 20's sold over a million with his classic "The Prisoner's Song," but it was one of his very last recordings, in 1939, that got my attention. He was not the first to record "Lavender Cowboy," but his was the recording that was declared a "blue record" by the radio industry, therefore banning it. And, we know that the Vernon Dalhart version of the song was banned by radio"

The Lavender Cowboy by Harold Hersey from "Night" 1923 He was only a lavender cowboy, But he was inwardly troubled
| First he tried many a hair tonic. 'Twas rubbed in on him each night. But still when he looked in the mirror Those two hairs were ever in sight. But with a spirit undaunted He battled for Red Nellie's honor |

"I went to see Ben-Hur at the Rialto Tuesday, and during the Roman warship rowing scene, I got up and went to the back row and played a game of checkers with a few of the other lads who were there"

65. Yesteryear's Queers' Word of the Day #3 - Jocker
Jocker
Strictly a top man!
He only tops because he thinks that doing anything else
would mean he's queer, and of course, he's not.
-1920s-
"That Jackie - he's only a jocker because he's never been fucked by a real man - but he sure likes getting fingered!"
63. Bunkhouse Overflow
The Bunkhouse at Loveless Motel can get pretty busy. But don't worry - the Mat Room in the gym can handle overflow until a bed becomes available, as long as no one tells the fire department.
